SuperCat Solutions is a B2B SaaS platform serving manufacturers in the lighting, furniture, and home décor ecosystem. The product has been operating in market for over a decade, with strong customer retention, defensible workflows, and real operational complexity. This is not a greenfield startup. It is a mature SaaS platform entering a deliberate phase of improvement, scale, and value creation.
Skaling Ventures is the long-term operator behind SuperCat. We acquire proven niche software businesses and elevate them through disciplined operating systems, pragmatic product development, and modern go-to-market execution.
In this role, you will act as a hands-on engineering leader and owner. This is a player-coach role with real accountability for how the product works in production. You will improve, extend, and operate the platform while collaborating closely with leadership, product, support, and go-to-market teams.
This role is designed for someone who wants meaningful ownership today and a clear path toward Head of Engineering, CTO, or GM-level responsibility over time.
The role is full-time, fully remote, and aligned to US East Coast market hours.
You will design, build, and improve features across the SuperCat platform. You will work across backend, client, and system workflows rather than staying in a narrow specialty. You will take features from concept through implementation and into real customer usage. You will make incremental improvements to a mature codebase without pursuing rewrites.
You will take responsibility for how the system behaves in the real world. You will investigate performance issues, understand system behavior under load, and work backward from observed problems to root causes. You will help improve system stability and predictability over time. When something breaks, you will help fix it.
You will translate customer pain points, support feedback, and business context into technical solutions. You will participate in and often lead whiteboarding or design discussions. You will work comfortably with incomplete information and shape solutions without needing exhaustive specifications.
You will use LLMs as a normal part of your daily work. You will apply AI tools to understand unfamiliar code, reason about changes, accelerate development, and explore solutions. You will contribute to future initiatives that introduce AI-driven capabilities into the product in a pragmatic way.
You will occasionally engage directly with support issues and customer conversations. You will help debug real customer problems and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders. You will stay close enough to the market to understand how the product is actually used.
